My Weekly Dispatch

Time to catch up on what's been happening this past week, and see what's coming up.

Hello Reader, how's your weekend going? This past week has gone by in a blur! The Puds are 'enjoying' being back at school and are already counting down the weeks to the summer holiday! As for me, well, my first week went as well as it could considering I was knocked off my feet with a horrible flu-like cold. It started last Saturday, got worse on Sunday, and I can't remember much of Monday!! I do know I collapsed on my bed as soon I got home and slept until Tuesday.

It is easing now, but it's left me with a hacking cough that I hope will be gone soon. What fun it is to start a new job when you feel like that!!! Of course, the Spring weather doesn't help. Last weekend, we had temperatures of 22°c/71°f and blue skies and sunshine. As I type this, it is snowing hard, although it doesn't appear to be settling, and it's currently -2°c/28°f. I hope your weather is treating you kindly! 💙

So, what has happened since last we spoke? Let me tell you...

Tama Art University Library in Tokyo, Japan

Minimalist yet breathtaking, the concrete arches of the Tama Art University Library in Tokyo echo ancient vaulted spaces such as wine cellars and storied libraries. Architect Toyo Ito completed the sleek structure in 2007 with the intent that the curved details seamlessly flow with the slopping outside landscapes. The first floor features an open gallery space for various art exhibitions with nearly 100,000 books making up the second-floor stacks.

The Lego Movie

We went old-style for our #FamilyMovieNight - or should that be 'wyldestyle'? Yep, we watched Emmett become The Special, trying to stop Lord Business, from freezing everything with the Kragle. Fun was had by all, plus The Batman Lego Movie has been added to the wishlist of films to get.

My fingers have been itching to carry on writing but I've just not had any energy once I got home. The mind was willing, as they say, even if the body was not. Instead, I've put one of my notebooks in my bag and I'm writing notes down whenever they hit me, so I know where I'm going with Terrwyn and Sulien's story. 💙

What are you up to? Do you have any special plans or events coming up? Let me know if you fancy sharing.

Don't forget to check the book below - another new release from the #FaRo Authors! Until next week...

Take care and have fun! 💙

A rare conduit of Light, drawn to the Shadows. A spymaster who can’t seem to stay away.

For as long as she can remember, Arken Asher has been searching for answers—driven by an insatiable hunger, a need to understand the meaning behind her dangerous arcane secrets. She’s finally taken that leap into the unknown, leaving her simple life behind to attend the Arcane Studium: a prestigious college of magickal arts & sciences nestled in the heart of Sophrosyne: the City of the Gods.

As the Scouting & Reconnaissance Captain of the Elder Guard, Kieran Vistarii deals in Shadows, blood and subterfuge. Scarred by his past but dedicated to safeguarding Sophrosyne’s future, Kieran’s self-imposed isolation is easily masked by charm and cocksure energy. Strange disappearances have kept his cadre busy as of late, and yet the captain finds himself sidetracked, distracted by the inexplicable allure of a certain golden-eyed Conduit and her curious mind.

They both know better than to get involved, but the Fates have other plans. The dark threads of prophecy were woven long ago, and the ties that bind just might be what it takes to mend these broken, star-crossed souls… or what forges a deadly bond that could damn them all.

Of Blood & Aether is the first book in the Harbingers series, a captivating and character-driven dark romantasy saga. Rife with sizzling tension, gut-wrenching angst, addictive banter and ever-growing stakes, the Harbingers series is perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns & Roses, Fourth Wing and From Blood & Ash.

My Weekly Dispatch Time to catch up on what's been happening this past week, and see what's coming up. Hello Reader, how's your weekend going? I've finished my second week of work and received my very first payslip since we moved to Germany! Woohoo, go me! This week has been a little easier as my cold is finally going. The weather has been a little crazy though, and we've had snow and hail storms. It is supposed to be warming up to 'normal' April temperatures this week, just as we move into...

My Weekly Dispatch Time to catch up on what's been happening this past week, and see what's coming up. Hello Reader, how's your weekend going? For the Puds, it's time to get ready for school again, as they're back Monday morning. And for me, I'm busy sorting everything out for my new job! I'm excited but apprehensive too. It's been 13 years since I last worked anyway for pay - not including my volunteering in the school library. I have no idea about what hours I'll be working so until I do,...

My Weekly Dispatch Time to catch up on what's been happening this past week, and see what's coming up. Hello Reader, how was your weekend? It's the first week of Spring Break for the Puds and they are both looking forward to having some time away from exams. We had snow showers over the weekend, typical March! I did manage to get some gardening done, but not much. I also finished two more squares for my blanket - a sword and a castle. I also watched the last episode of the last season of...
